The improv show that was literally ripped from the headlines.
Audience members would peruse a New York Times and tear out headlines, ads, or pictures to inform the players where this Chicago "Harold" style show would go next.
Lifegame!
Ben took his improv skills to the small screen as a featured cast member of this imporv show adapted from the Off-Broadway version. Stories culled from live celebrity interviews were brought to life by Ben and the other cast members. Highlights include Ben playing rapper Ice-T in an improvised info-mercial based on Ice-T's short-lived Army career..
Doppelgangers
Four improvisors, four playwrite styles, and an improvised one-act play.
This creative and hilarious show challanged Ben and three other improvisors to not only improvise a one-act play with a coherent and engaging beginning, middle, and end, but to do so while incorporating the styles of four different playwrites (one assigned to each player by the audience.) Highlights include Ben's Ibsen-esque father stuggling to come to terms with his Shephard-esque daughter who has had an affair with a Thorton Wilder-type and has given birth to a baby bear!
Midnight Mock
3 A-list improvisors mock a B movie...live!
Remember Mystery Science Theater 2000? Well, this was the live version with Ben and two other improvisors sitting with a live audience at Cinema Classics and watching movies like Amazon Women on the Moon and mocking it from start to finish.
Ben started performing improvisation at a very young age. Short form, Long form, definitely comedic and occasionally dramatic, improv has been a staple throughout Ben's career. In NYC, Ben performed with Hiatus Improv for four years.
